I have a 13 year old daughter who has behavioural issues. She is very negative, cannot make friends as she is supicious that the fellow students are talking about her. She is very shy on the outside, unable to communicate socially, very angry and has tantrums.
She has home work issues because she seeks assurances all the time about her work and very obsessive . She will check and check her work over and over again.
She as weak memory therfore is unable to grasp fully what she as studied. She cannot communicate without been angry if she disagrees with us.

Thank you for your question, Jim.
Firstly, by asking your question you show how much you care for your daughter and want things to get better. I am pleased that you are considering essential oils as an option to assist with your daughter's issues.
You may want to consult a doctor first, just to make sure there are no physical causes for the change in behaviour. How long has her behaviour been like this? Do some of the behaviours you describe, such as her obsessive behaviours been present for a long time or is this a new behaviour? A doctor is the best person to help you with these questions.
There are quite a lot of issues going on for your daughter and she may also benefit from professional counselling. Most schools have a school counsellor and that is a good place to start.
As for essential oil support I would be getting a diffuser for a subtle introduction to some of the oils.
There are many oils that can be used for anger. If you are interested in any books about essential oils and emotions, I recommend Carolyn Mein’s book “ Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils” and also Valerie Worwood’s book “The Fragrant Mind.” You can get them at my aromatherapy store.
To calm down anger I would diffuse lavender, vetiver, bergamot and patchouli, starting with fifteen minutes a day.
Oils that are suitable for obsessional behaviour are sandalwood, vetiver, cedarwood, clary sage, orange and lemon.
If it was my daughter, and she was open to the idea I would consider an Egyptian Emotional Clearing Technique. If you do not have a practitioner nearby you can get the kit to use at home. More details at the above link.
Of course I would ALWAYS use therapeutic grade essential oils.
If an oil doesn’t work there is a good chance it is adulterated or cut. Burning them actually destroys the chemical constituents. So always use a diffuser. You can get a diffuser and therapeutic grade essential oils from my aromatherapy store.
I would love to hear about your experience with the oils. I wish you and your family all the very best.
